Director of LFG
A Gemmologist with a Master’s Degree in Geological Sciences and a Diploma in Gemmology from the University of Nantes. Aurélien Delaunay has been a gemmologist at the LFG since 2011. He was in charge of the Diamond Department from 2011 to 2015, before taking over as Head of all Laboratory Analyses from 2015 to 2018. His main areas of research are: Type IIa diamonds, natural, synthetic or processed diamonds. He has published multiple scientific articles not only on diamonds, but also on coloured stones.
Today, he directs the LFG, the primary aim of which is to remain a major player in gemmological analysis serving consumers.
Maud de la Taille
Head of Administration and Sales
Maud de la Taille is your reference person for all aspects of case management.
She will receive you at the LFG and ably guide you in your procedures. Her experience in jewellery sales and sales assistance at a diamond dealer’s for more than 15 years serve the development and quality of the LFG.
Head of the Pearls Department and Head of Sales to Key Accounts
Sophie Leblan is a gemmologist and holds a Diploma in Gemmology from the University of Nantes.
Her experience as an assistant to a pearl trader earned her responsibility for pearl analysis at LFG. She is also the reference person when it comes to Key Account management.
Head of Coloured Stones Department
A lapidary specialist by training, Alexandre Droux graduated from the University of Gemmology at the University of Lyon and joined the French Gemmology Laboratory in 2000.
He is a specialist in inclusions and geographical origins in corundum.
Head of Melee Diamonds Department
Annabelle Herreweghe is a gemmologist with a Master’s Degree in Geology Science and a Diploma in Gemmology from the University of Nantes.
Annabelle is responsible for analysing melee diamonds for LFG.
