OBJECTIVES

To learn how to identify gemstones, to understand diamonds, from their formation through to their use in jewellery and to discover the fundamentals of gemmology

TEACHING METHODS AND RESOURCES

• Training provided by a professional gemmologist
• Use of gemmological equipment: loupe, binocular microscope, UV light, polariscope
• Observation of natural diamonds and of diamond simulants

• Knowledge assessment
• Certificate issued at the end of training
