DIGITAL MICROSCOPE

The digital microscope equipping the LFG is made by HIROX.

It was developed in the IT industry, where it is used for quality control on electronic components. It allows high magnifications (up to a thousand two hundred times) without the saturation or “burn” phenomena frequently observed with CCD technologies.

The LFG uses it to produce general photographs of the gem and its internal inclusions, for gem traceability and visual justification of diamond clarity criteria.
